Political Philosophy of Herbert Marcuse
This
book is based on the Marcusean doctrine of the ‘Great Refusal’, is a
manifestation of radical protest against one-dimensional thought and behaviour
i.e. the irrationalized rational thought and behaviour of exploitative system
of capitalism and communism, ultimately leading to the foundation of free
society.
The concept of “Total Revolution” will be the soul
of the free society, bringing about revolutionary changes in human’s instincts,
thought, action, behaviour, art, literature, science and technology. Certainly
this book opens over eyes about the deceptive ideas of communism and
capitalism, striving for socialism. In true sense for the establishment of
humanistic and moral socialism, we must have to accept the Marcusean doctrine
of the “Great Refusal”, leading to “Total Revolution” in present
established system.
Dr.
Prem Narayan Sinha (born 12th December 1950) is
retired Professor of Political Science, G.J. College, Rambag, Bihta, Patna,
Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya (Bihar). He did his M.A. from Magadh University,
Bodh-Gaya and Ph.D. from Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya (India). He joined
teaching Profession as Lecturer in Political Science on 16th July, 1973 at K.L.S.
College, Nawada (Bihar), Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya.
He was member of American Studies Research Centre, Hyderabad, United State Information Service Calcutta, A.N. Sinha Institute of Social and Political Studies, Patna. His name as Asian Scholar has been published in Refacimento International in Delhi, Reference Asia, volume Fourth in 1989. In State and National Journals, his many Articles have been published. He attended seminars and conferences. He produced five Ph.D. scholars under his supervising and guidance. His current interest is in the study of Indian and western political thoughts.
