The main objective of the study is to make a comprehensive evaluation of the ‘SEEUY’ Scheme with a view to findout whether and to what extent such a scheme constitutes a viable and effective policy tool in the context of broader employment promotion strategy.
Though a micro-level study of a district, its finding have a macro-level application. The study has the good blending of theoretical discussion with empirical evidence. It is revealed by the study that the formulation and implementation process did have some avoidable gaps and overlaps which resulted into its reduced impact. The author has been quite successful in making quantitative measurement of the impact of the scheme on the beneficiaries and also in its qualitative assessment. Based on the findings of the study, the author has come out with several practical suggestions to make the scheme a real success.
The book is of immense use not only to policy makers, researchers, teachers and development administrators but also to the vast majority of educated unemployed and self-employed youth of the nation.
