Biofertilizers are preparations containing living microorganisms which help in plant growth and increased productivity through their biological activities. Soil fertility can be restored effectively through adopting the concept of Integrated Soil Fertility Management (I.S.F.M.) encompassing a strategy for nutrient management- based on natural resource conservation, biological nitrogen fixation and increased efficiency of the inputs.
