Crops suffer due to diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses, nematodes, phytoplasma resulting in losses in quality and quantity. Therefore to get rid from such soil borne pathogens, there is an urgent need of suitable/environmental friendly management practices for reduction in disease incidence in several agricultural crops of economic importance.The biological control of pathogens has been studied for many years, and the introduction of beneficial microorganisms into soil or the rhizosphere has been proposed for the biological control of soil borne crop diseases.
